Topic T2B1- Mooring Lines, Uses….

1) Normally, ALL lines stay with the Boat (Why??)

2) Bow & Stern Lines
a. Prevent Movement in/out from Pier

3) Spring Lines
a. Prevent Movement fore/aft

4) Amidships Line
a. Prevent Movement in/out from Pier

5) Stern-to (Med Moor)

6) Securing to a Cleat, Ring, Post or Bar

7) Commands
a. Hold
b. Ease
c. Take In (or take the slack out of….)
d. Cast Off
e. Shift

8) Doubling Up

9) Securing Lines when Underway- ALWAYS CHECK THAT THEY HAVE NOT COME LOOSE!
