Keelboat maintenance day was a great success!!
A very big THANK YOU to our wonderful keelboat maintenance team: Tom Allegretti, Jared Brockway, Lee Burnette, Ananth Ugrasenan, Nina Riehs and Alex & Julia Okrut !! The team was small but the accomplishments were huge!!! We scrubbed and cleaned out both Orion and Tashi and got rid of at least 6 dock carts full of trash and unnecessary stuff. These boats are now tons lighter and probably way more competitive in future races There are lost and found items in the shed in pier 40. If you are missing something, have a look there soon, as they will be discarded by end of August. In addition, we repaired the outhaul on Tashi. We had to take off the boom (!!) to reach to a block system that was inside of it to re-attach the outhaul. We also properly attached the bilge pump on Orion, adjusted the idle speed of her engine and greased the throttle both on Tashi and Orion. Last but not least, both Heidi and Tashi are now flying BAADS burgees and Orion has now a BAADS banner attached !!
